Our Philosophy

Children are natural theater makers. When they join their natural improvisation skills with the theatrical possibilities of a story they create a mirror that reflects their inner world to the outer world. They take a private experience and give it a universal context.

At Jersey City Children’s Theater we celebrate the art of play and the diverse tapestry that is Jersey City. Through our curriculum of story telling, play making and theater games inspired by master educators Neva Boyd, Viola Spolin, and Paul Sills, and designed by our expert actor educators, children will discover diplomatic ways to learn lessons of morality, courage, generosity, and compassion. And have great fun doing it!
